France

I have just spend 2 weeks in France. First at Rudy's family in Amiens. Then a couple of days in Nancy at the French Championships and in the last week in Niort for the training camp of the French combined events team. In the end of that week they had a triathlon to finsih with.

I spend a good week of training in Niort. Everything goes better every week and I'm happy for that.
I also participated in the triathlon; hurdles-high jump-javelin.
As all the first races, my hurdles race was a mess. But 14.02 wasn't such a bad start compared to last year (when I ran 13.86 and 14.23 in my first 2 races). The high jump was ok. My run up wasn't so good (I need some more training), but the jumps were ok. 1.68 wasn't what I was hoping for, but considering the amount of training and the lack of technique, it wasn't so bad after all.
Javelin wasn't so good for me. 45.59 was just too poor compared to my season start. I need to get rid of the technical problems and I will be throwing far again.

I'm happy with the start of the season and happy that my ankle was ok during and after the competition.

The next 3 weeks will be weeks of hard training for me. After that we will go to more quality to get ready for Talence.

Shot

Just a little message to say I improved my season's best form 14.21 to 14.73 today. I'm very happy with this improvement and it shows my level is not so far away in the shot.

I'm happy I finally control the shot again instead of the shot controlling me ;-)

Training goes very well. Did a good hurdle session and All the other events are going according to plan. Hope to inform you soon about some results

Nationals

Last tuesday I did a good Javelin session and after the training I decided to compete at the national champs in the javelin.

Although it was a technical mess (which is normal after such a short time of training), I'm very happy with the distance of 46m90. It's further then I ever threw outside of a heptathlon. So I think with some technical changes and the adrenaline of a heptathlon I can throw I long way this season.
I went home with a good feeling. I'm very happy I competed.

Next week I will do another shot put competition. Today's training went very well, so we'll see.
