surgery
I arrived in the hospital at 12:45 for my athroscopy. They told me my surgery would be 2 hours after my arrival, but 10 minutes after I arrived the operation room called that they were ready for me.
So I went to the recovery room to get ready. They injected a needle in my wrist to give me salted fluids and in the operation room they gave me my anestesia through that tube as well.
I choose to sleep completely because the idea of not being able to control my leg freaks me out. So I thought it was better to go under completely.
Well I was a sleep very very fast and all I remember is waking up with pains in my foot.
After 30min in recovery room they brought me back to my room where I was able to eat and drink again (i didn't eat and drink since 24:00 the night before). I was sooo thirsty, that all I could think about was getting something to drink.
After 1.5 hours I was ready to eat. And not so much later I was able to go to the bathroom.
In the meanwhile the orthopeadic surgeon had given me a visit to speak about the surgery. They found the fluid behind my ligaments, but they also found lots of scar tissue that had to be removed because it was blocking my joint.
The doctor was pretty sure that was teh reason why I still had these pains.
Well, now I'm walking on crutches for a couple of days. In 2 days I can remove the pressure strap they gave me, so thursday I will see what my ankle looks like.
